How to Reset a Standalone PT Solar Camera Password – A Nikitis Tech Hub Guide



With the rise of solar-powered PT cameras, more people are enjoying the freedom of wireless surveillance without electricity bills. But what happens when you forget the password or can’t access the app?

In this post, Wisdom from Nikitis Tech Hub walks you through the reset process for solar-powered PT cameras, so you can regain access and secure your device again.



First, What Is a Standalone PT Solar Camera?

It’s a wireless surveillance camera with:

  • Pan-Tilt (PT) motion (some even auto-track movement),

  • Built-in solar panel and battery, and

  • SIM card or Wi-Fi connectivity (some models support both).

These cameras are mostly used in farms, gates, remote areas, construction sites, or homes — where there’s no constant power supply.

Most common models use apps like:

  • iCSee

  • V380 Pro

  • UBox

  • Xmeye

  • TuyaSmart

How to Reset the Camera

Method 1: Physical Reset via Reset Button



This is the most reliable method and works for 80% of solar PT cameras.

Steps:

  1. Power on the camera and ensure the solar battery has enough charge.
    (If unsure, connect to USB power bank or 5V adapter briefly.)

  2. Look for a tiny reset hole under the lens, near the SIM/memory card slot, or beside the antenna.

  3. Use a pin to press and hold the reset button for 10–15 seconds.

  4. Wait for a voice prompt like:

    “Reset successful”
    “Waiting for configuration”

  5. Open the mobile app and follow the "Add Device" process by scanning the camera’s QR code or selecting its model.

  6. Set a new password during the setup.

💡 Wisdom’s Tip: If your camera has a SIM card, remove it before resetting to avoid network confusion.

📱 Method 2: Reset via App (If Already Online)

Some models (like those using UBox or TuyaSmart) allow cloud-based reset if the device is still online and bound to your account.

Steps:

  1. Open the camera’s app (e.g., UBox, iCSee).

  2. Tap on the camera feed.

  3. Go to Settings > More Settings > Restore Factory Settings.

  4. Confirm and wait for reboot.

  5. Reconnect and set a new access password.

⚠️ This won’t work if the camera is offline or bound to another account.

Dealing with “Device Bound to Another Account”?

This is very common with second-hand or resold solar cameras.

Fix Options:

  • Physically reset the camera (see Method 1).

  • Try logging in with the original account.

  • If locked out:

    1. Take a screenshot of the error message.

    2. Note the Device ID and serial number.

    3. Contact the app support (UBox/iCSee) via email or in-app support.

    4. Request manual unbinding with proof of purchase.

After Reset – Secure Your Camera

  • Use a strong login password (not “123456”)

  • Bind the camera to a verified cloud account

  • Disable default sharing options

  • Hide Device ID from public view (for cloud safety)

  • Enable motion alerts, and set a reliable SIM card or Wi-Fi

Q: My camera says "Network error" after reset.

📌 You need to contact the app vendor to unbind it from their cloud manually.
